CELEBRITY EVENTS

Hosting big names since 1993

Hamilton is no stranger to drawing in big names and Carmens Group has played a major role in attracting them. Over the past three decades, we’ve hosted U.S. Presidents, Prime Ministers, Oscar-winning performers, platinum recording artists and three Sopranos cast members.
With big plans in place to revitalize Hamilton’s most iconic venues and vibrant locales, Carmens Group is paving the way to bring more marquee events and personalities to our city.

Leading by example

Carmens Group CEO PJ Mercanti is working member of HUPEG, a community-wide improvement project that will bring world-class revitalization to our landmark sports and entertainment venues, attracting more food and beverage options, tourism and opportunities to help Hamilton charities in our community. Our star-studded events have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for organizations like Good Shepherd, Juravinski Hospital, Empower Global and the Canadian Diabetes Association.

Bringing people together for a cause

In 2010, Al Pacino was the marquee guest for a Good Shepherd and Empower Global Event that raised $150,000. The Hamilton Convention Centre hosted Grammy-winning crooner Tony Bennett for a benefit concert that raised $50,000 for the Canadian Diabetes Association. George H.W. Bush helped raise $100,000 for St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Giving back in a big way

Galas featuring the band Chicago, Jann Arden, and Wayne Gretzky collectively raised over $2.5 million for local children’s charities, community organizations and regional healthcare initiatives. Sylvester Stallone joined us for the fundraiser for the Canadian Diabetes Association, raising $100,000 and Olivia Newton-John helped us raise $65,000 for the new Breast Assessment Centre for cancer treatment.
