In his role as the Director of Operations Matthew is responsible for the success of our kitchen, service, bar, set up, event planning, stewarding and maintenance departments. His creativity and leadership allows Carmen’s multifaceted operation to run seamlessly with the ultimate goal of achieving superior customer satisfaction.
Matt has been with Carmen’s since 2006 and has performed various roles in the organization. Early in his career he focused on managing our event planning division where he was planning nearly 600 events annually across three venues. His body of work was recognized in 2014 when he was awarded with the Hamilton Spectator Reader’s Choice Award for Hamilton’s favourite wedding planner.
Matthew has an Honours Bachelor of Science degree from McMaster University and a Bachelor of Education from Brock University. His passion for the ever-changing hospitality industry is coupled with his fascination of cars, travel and a diverse array of music, film and literature. He enjoys spending time with his wife Melissa and cheering on the Montreal Canadiens.
