Carmen’s Group Celebrates Grand Opening of New Headquarters in Downtown Hamilton Core

We recently celebrated a milestone in our long history with the grand opening of our downtown headquarters on Tuesday, April 24, 2018.

Hamilton Mayor Fred Eisenberger, Angelo Paletta of Princess Gates Entertainment, Hamilton Tiger-Cats COO Matt Afinec and Scott Warren of the Hamilton Cardinals and formerly of FirstOntario Centre were among those who attended the event.

Other well-known Hamilton names such as former City of Hamilton Mayor Larry DiIanni, City Councilors Jason Farr, Maria Pearson and Terry Whitehead were present as well.

About a stone’s throw from where the founder of the company, Peter Mercanti, used to sell Hamilton Spectator newspapers back in the 1960’s; the move into Hamilton City Center was needed due to our surging growth over the past few years.

“We’re confident that this new space will allow Carmen’s Group to grow to unprecedented levels that will not only make our team and our family proud but the entire city proud,” said PJ Mercanti, Carmen’s Group CEO. “We want to make all of you proud and we’re excited for what the future will bring here in this great city of Hamilton, our collective home.”

The idea of returning to where the Mercanti’s first started was not a hard decision. The downtown office positions us in a strategic location that not only caters to our business needs in the centre of the city but also affords us the accessibility to reach our five venues across Hamilton with relative ease.

Mayor Eisenberger spoke to the large crowd on the importance of the new space.

“I’m really looking forward to Carmen’s 2.0 and that’s kind of what we’re looking at here today,” he said. “I think all of council appreciates the work that you’re doing on our behalf and all the facilities that you manage on our behalf and so far, it has been an absolutely brilliant experience, and we’ll keep it coming.”

With a pair of giant scissors in hand, Mayor Eisenberger helped PJ and Joe Mercanti cut the red ribbon that officially signified the opening of the brand-new office space.

“We’re very excited and proud to have located our corporate offices, right here in the core of our city at the intersection of James Street North and King William, the epicentre of Hamilton’s art and hospitality renaissance,” said Joe Mercanti, Carmen’s Group COO.
